Remote Bidding, what you need to know

If you are unable to attend the live event for any reason, bidding from out of the area or if you simply just prefer to bid from home, then you can take advantage of our Remote Bidding service and it is totally free to use. You will need to register prior to the auction, and can choose to bid via Internet, Telephone or Proxy, you’ll watch live stream of the proceedings to see what’s going on and still be in charge of the bidding. Registration needs to be completed by close of business on the last Friday before the auction simply follow the simple steps below;

Registration to bid in our auction couldn’t be easier and it is a totally free service;

  1. Simply fill in the online application form here and specify the Lots you want to bid on
  2. You will then be required to provide two forms of ID, see acceptable ID
  3. We will contact you regards your card/payment details

If you are successful in your bidding, you will need to be available on the night for us to call you to arrange payment of the deposit funds. We will require 10% of the hammer price along with a Buyers Administration Fee of £800 plus vat (£960 inc.) per Lot sold 

 

Choose from one of three ways to bid on the night;

Internet – Create an account with EIG and when you log in on the night you will be able to bid on the Lots you have registered for at the click of a button

Telephone – A member of our auction team will call you in time for each Lot you have registered for, and you will instruct them as and when you want to place a bid

Proxy – You register a maximum bid with us prior, and a member of the auction team will bid on your behalf until either you are the winning bidder or we reach your maximum amount

 

If you are the highest bidder on the fall of the hammer, then the sale becomes legally binding and contracts will be exchanged and signed by our Auction team on your behalf as per our terms and conditions. We strongly recommend every bidder completes their due diligence prior to placing any bids at auction, including; inspecting the property, take independent legal advice regards the legal pack, you have funds in place or made arrangements with your mortgage provider, and check the Addendum for any amendments prior to the sale taking place
