If you are looking to buy or sell a property in the family friendly town of Brynmawr, Darlows estate agents are here to help.
Darlows estate agents Brynmawr is part of a local network covering fourteen areas in and around South Wales. We’re an independently owned estate agency, part of a group of nearly 200 branches across the UK. Whether you’re buying or selling a home, we pride ourselves on giving you the best service.
Brynmawr is just off the A465, better known as the Heads of the Valleys Road, which runs through the historic and stunning South Wales Valleys. There are good road links down to Newport and the M4, and there’s a direct train from Ebbw Vale (only a mile away) to Cardiff, which takes an hour.
Brynmawr’s heyday was during the time of the Nantyglo ironworks. Housing was needed for the many miners, and the town flourished. Today the town retains a strong community ethos, and there’s everything you need, with big supermarkets as well as smaller independent shops. Brynmawr is particularly popular with first time buyers and young families: property is affordable and a number of the schools, including Blaen-y-Cwm and Glyncoed primary schools, are rated 'good'.
There’s no shortage of green open spaces. As well as being on the doorstep of the world famous Brecon Beacons National Park, there’s the Parc Nant y Waun, a nature reserve that’s home to a variety of wildlife.
Brynmawr is a bustling market town in the heart of Blanau Gwent, nestled in the hills at the top of the Heads of The Valleys Road, which offers excellent links to Abergavenny and the South. The area has excellent schools and facilities such as a leisure centre in the nearby Ebbw Vale and a newly refurbished cinema in Brynmawr's market square where a weekly local market is held.
Ebbw Vale can be found a few miles down valley, and is most famous for it's old Steel Works site, which is currently being regenerated and the old site will soon hold the new hospital, and railway station direct to Cardiff, bringing valuable links to the city. Brynmawr is a popular town for young families as it offers a fantastic sense of community spirit, with families often choosing to stay in the area indefinitely.
